MEETING NOTICE, GREENVALE TOWNSHIP, BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, THURSDAY April 18, 2024 AT 7:00PM. [Interviews at 6:00PM]

The Board of Supervisors will hold its regular meeting at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024. The Board has suspended the work session which used to be held at 6:00pm; however, the Board will conduct interviews with applicants to the Planning Commission and Road Committee at that time.

The meeting will be held at the Greenvale Town Hall at 31800 Guam Avenue and is open to the public. There may be a quorum of Planning Commission members in attendance at the Board meeting. All are welcome to attend.

MEETING NOTICE - ROAD TOUR AND ROAD COMMITTEE MEETING

ROAD TOUR - The Road Committee will do its annual tour of township roads on Thursday April 18, 2024 starting at 1:00pm. The Road Tour will start and end at the Town Hall – 31800 Guam Ave, Northfield, MN.

A vehicle will be rented to accommodate persons wishing to join the Road Tour. Contact the Town Clerk by email at clerk@greenvaletwp.org or call 507-321-9311 by Wednesday April 10, at 5:00pm to reserve a seat. There may be a quorum of Supervisors or Planning Commission members present on the Road Tour.

ROAD COMMITTEE MEETING - Immediately following the Road Tour, but no earlier than 3:30pm the Road Committee will meet at the Town Hall, 31800 Guam Ave, Northfield. The meeting is open to the public. There may be a quorum of Supervisors or Planning Commission members present at the Road Committee meeting.

LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES

Greenvale Township is seeking candidates for two open positions on the Planning Commission. One position is now vacant with the election of Scott Norkunas as a Supervisor; the other position is at the end of its term after the April meeting. Incumbent may re-apply. Both positions are three year terms. Candidates must reside in Greenvale Township. These are paid positions with regularly scheduled meetings. Your application must be received by the Township by Monday April 15 at 5:00pm to be considered for this position. Applicants will be interviewed starting at 6:00pm on Thursday April 18, prior to the Board of Supervisors meeting. Application instructions are below.

Greenvale Township is seeking volunteers to serve on the township’s Road Committee. There are two open positions. The committee is increasing its membership from four to six members. Candidates must reside in Greenvale Township. These are unpaid positions. A meeting schedule will be determined later this year. Your application must be received by the Township by Monday April 15 at 5:00pm to be considered for this position. Applicants will be interviewed starting at 6:00pm on Thursday April 18, prior to the Board of Supervisors meeting. Application instructions are below.

Deadline for receipt is 5:00pm Monday April 15.

GREENVALE TOWNSHIP ELECTION RESULTS

The election results from Tuesday, March 12, 2024 for Greenvale Township Town Board:

Scott Norkunas: 214 vs. Gregory Langer: 163. Congratulations to Scott who was elected to the Board of Supervisors for three year term!

Jane Dilley ran unopposed for Town Clerk. The vote tally was Jane Dilley: 309 vs. 42 for multiple write in candidates. Dilley was re-elected for a two year term.

ANNOUNCEMENT - GREENVALE TOWNSHIP, ***NEW BUILDING INSPECTOR AS OF JANUARY 1, 2024***

Greenvale Township has selected a new Building Inspector as of January 1, 2024. The Building Inspector is Beaver Creek Companies, owned by Mark Ceminsky.

The process for applying for a building permit has changed. Please refer to the procedure which is on the ORDINANCES & PERMITS tab of the Greenvale Township website.
